Positive socialization can help in the vital shaping of the personality of young children. In Nigeria, children have developed a longing for the activities that come with Holidays like the Easter Celebration. The Easter celebration like most Festivities in Nigeria is usually marked by largesse, funfair, sharing, and gifting.
This year was no exception.
In partnership with Jabi Lake Mall, its partners and other friends of SOS Children’s Villages, Saturday 16th of April was an exciting one filled with laughter and lots of goodies for children in the SOS Children’s Villages Family Strengthening and Alternative Care Programmes in the FCT. The Children were hosted to a funfair of games, face painting, dance competitions, and music which left them elated as their participation and entertainment were prioritized in all these activities.
On the morning of April 16th 2022, 42 children in the company of the SOS Children’s Villages FCT Alternative Care Manager, three SOS parents and the Family Strengthening manager arrived at Jabi Lake Mall, Jabi, Abuja. They were received by the Marketing Manager of the mall, Mr. Abiola Oparinde, who led the children and other members of staff to the recreation area set up for the children.
After a round of introductions, the children commenced a tour of the mall led by a staff the Mall, Ms. Ojoma Haruna, and the dance floor was opened thereafter. After a long day of fun-filled activities for the children, nothing prepared them for the awesome ending that followed as they received lots of presents from partners of Jabi Lake mall including Health Plus, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Maxtivity, Shoprite, Pep Store, May Brands, Nett Pharmacy, Cascade Luxury, Hottie Chops, etc.
Some of the gift items received by the children included Cartons of Indomie Noodles, Detergents, beverages and cookies, drinks, and other food items. At about 2:30 pm that day, the children said their goodbyes after a closing remark by the Family Strengthening Manager, Mr. Moses Obuseli and the Jabi Lake Mall marketing manager.
