30 Aug Health Insurance Registration of Family Strengthening Beneficiaries
As we conduct family development plans for Family Strengthening beneficiaries in Lagos, we are discovering a lot of beneficiaries with medical health challenges. Most of the beneficiaries being identified have little or no information and even access to good medical care, and those who have the information do not have adequate resources to get appropriate health care services. In view of the above, they patronize quacks such as non-trained health workers, trado-medical doctors, herb sellers, and chemists which makes them susceptible to infections and diseases.
With the above in mind the management of SOS children villages Nigeria contracted a health maintenance organization ‘Ilera- eko’ (A Lagos state health maintenance organization) that will manage the health challenge of our beneficiaries and also ensure prompt adequate and standard practices/ services are administered and sustained
The first registration and enrolment were done in august 2021 with 215 beneficiaries registered and enrolled at Hill star private hospital and General hospital Isolo to access medical care. The second batch was done in November 2021 and 287 beneficiaries have been enrolled and already accessing health care services in Isolo General hospital.
One of the beneficiaries expresses her satisfaction by saying, “I am so happy my children and I can now have access to good health care free of charge without running to neighbours for help, thank SOS Children’s Villages”.
