"I am fortunate to be part of the Eco Champions Project and travel to Kenya to present my plans to mitigate the effect of climate change in Nigeria

The programme ensures that local communities drive gender-responsive climate action, increasing the resilience of children, young people, and community members. It is also aimed at helping local communities and actors actively engage young people, particularly young women, as agents of change in forums discussing climate change. It is important for young people, particularly young women, in vulnerable positions to successfully run initiatives on climate change.

Through the project, 4 Eco Champions have been empowered with the total sum of 11,550,000 Naira to implement climate change initiatives in their communities. They were supported to participate in capacity-building sessions through a face-to-face summit in Nairobi, Kenya, where they gained relevant knowledge and skills in project management, advocacy and policy influencing, awareness raising, negotiation, and partnership building.
